LPC Supervision
Congratulations on reaching your final step in becoming a licensed professional counselor! I know that it can be challenging to find the right supervisor to help you in becoming a successful and confident therapist. I am a board-approved LPC Supervisor for the state of Mississippi.
I have worked with populations ranging in age from 3 years old to 90 years of age in a variety of settings such as a school setting, nursing home setting, group home setting for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and a clinical setting. I currently own and work locally in my private practice.
As your supervisor, I will serve 3 basic roles: teacher, evaluator, and consultant. My goals are to enhance clinical knowledge, strengthen skill development, and instill confidence so that you may become an effective, ethical, knowledgeable, and experienced counselor. Supervision will also focus on developing your clinical techniques, reviewing ethical guidelines, learning about yourself as a therapist and gaining insight into the business of being a counselor.
Supervision will consist of the following but not limited to the following:
- case conceptualization
- role-playing
- article/therapy model review of interest to intern
- ethical dilemma scenarios
- documentation review
- review of the current ACA code of ethics in accordance with the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors
Contact me to schedule an in-person meeting to assess whether I can help you meet your goals.
